Plant the Seeds for Your Future — Win a $500 College Scholarship

Deadline for submission to essay contest: 1 September 2015

Are you a creative, motivated individual interested in studying agriculture, design, technology or something similar at one of Australia's premiere universities? If so, Flowers Across™ wanted to give you a $500 college scholarship and help you get there!

There are three disciplines that make Flowers Across™ flourish: agriculture, design and technology. Because of this, we invited any and all students studying a field within one of these three disciplines to participate in our essay competition.

The topic to be explored for this year's scholarship essay contest was "Today's Innovations Across Different Markets." This broad topic was intended to test the fledging student's view of their respective industry as well as their eye for how future innovations can improve it. We feel that innovation is the lifeblood of any professional endeavour, and we wanted to hear your vision on how you expect it to help your industry.

Rules

  • This contest was open to secondary school seniors and university students looking to study a major that falls under one of these umbrellas: agriculture, design and technology.
  • Entrants had to nominate themselves by submitting an essay that explores today's innovation trends across their chosen industry.
  • Essays had to be between 500 words and 1,000 words.
  • All essays had to be submitted to [email protected].
  • All essays had to be submitted by 1 September 2015.
  • Scholarship was awarded on 1 October 2015.

Entrants were asked to include a short cover letter with their scholarship essay naming the school they attend or wish to attend, as well as the major they wish to pursue. Flowers Across™ reviewed all submissions and selected the winning essay based on academic ambition, creativity and work quality.
